In March 2023, our tests on various electronic components provided valuable insights into the current state of the industry. Key findings include:
- Dominant component types tested were MOSFETs, microcontrollers, and FPGAs.
- Texas Instruments (TI) remains a significant player, with Infineon Technologies leading in the number of tested components.
- The proportion of failed components due to functional test failures surpassed refurbishment and counterfeit issues.
March's data showed a decrease in the testing volume of diodes, switches, and regulators compared to February. The market share of TI products increased from 16.5% to 23.5%, with On Semiconductor and ST Microelectronics following closely.
Functional test failures indicate an increasing number of cases opting for these tests, reflecting a growing focus on product quality. Counterfeit/suspected counterfeit products accounted for about 10% of failures, while solderability test failures remained low at less than 1%.
